Cordura Correspondence is run by Ramon Martinez in Bosque, New Mexico. The course was started when the state passed the law mandating that all high school students were required to take a driver's education course.  In 1998 Ramon worked with CAPE-NM and the Traffic Safety Center and developed a course that would fit the needs of home schooled students throughout the state.  He has since been providing a correspondence driving course for home schooled students and others who are approved to take the course by the Traffic Safety Center.

In 1985, after helping to get the original home schooling law passed in New Mexico, Ramon, along with his wife Betty, began homeschooling their three children.  They have served on the board of directors of New Mexico Christian Home Educators, CAPE-NM and Valencia Christian Home Educators and have been actively involved in the state home schooling conventions since their inception.

Ramon was also a New Mexico public school teacher for 26 years before his retirement in 2000.
